Obituary
Shirley (Kuykendall) Layman, 80, of Ft Myers, Florida & Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021.
She was born on November 18, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles & Margaret Kuykendall. The family moved to Louisville, Kentucky during her early teens. She is also preceded in death by her husband Walter Layman.
She was a wonderful, loving Mom, Coy, Gram, GiGi, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She enjoyed family, making jewelry, painting and raising butterflies. She was a compassionate woman who donated time to the OSTEGO BAY FOUNDATION, where she developed a love for the sea life, plant life and wildlife in the Ft Myers area.
She is survived by her brother, Ray Kuykendall, her children, Catherine (Phil) Bremer, Kimberly Smith, Kendall Bagwell, Karen (John) Hansgen, Travis (Alisha) Layman. Her Grandchildren, Joel (Danielle) Bagwell, Austin Layman, Jacob (Jennifer) Bagwell, Kelsey Bagwell, Katelyn Hansgen, Jared Bagwell and Kassidee Hansgen. Her Great Grandchildren, Peyton, Jackson, Ryleigh, Evelyn and Juliette. Nieces Bree, Makayla and Kareena.
A private family memorial is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has asked donations be made to:

She wanted to hear him sing My Old Kentucky Home at the Derby party. This was taken afterwards....her smile says it all. Wonderful lady who will be missed by so many.
