Obituary
I’m sorry it’s taken so long for me to face this task. And this isn’t going to be the way others do it but here goes. How do I put in words what it’s been like to be a part of his life for almost 40 years. As many here have stated a man of such quality and tenderness to all. I had given up and turned over my search to God and he delivered! We lived a “Wonderful Life” just full of awesome friends and family! His son Stephen and his children Alyssa ,Austin ,Dianna and Alyssa’s son Caleb have warmed our souls and continue to be one of the towers that holds me up!
The other Tower is my son his stepson Larry! Steve proved to be the best thing that could have happened for us both. Larry and his wife Luminitza and their little Sofia fill us with joy and strength. Larry has said Steve’s sense of fairness and justice impressed him to his core.
His sister Vickie and her large family would always gather at our place for wonderful Christmas feasts and fun . Steve and I still cherish those memories. Steve and she were devoted to both mother and father.
My sister from another mother Chris has known us as a couple almost from our beginning and I just don’t know what I would do without her.
Steve has so many great and talented family/ friends that he admired and loved. He had a lot to live for, but just could not. I know people say don’t worry he’s in a better place, and I assure you he is!
I weep for me for I will never stop missing that man of mine!
Steve I love you to infinity and beyond!
Your wife Joyce
PS we will add to this site a day and place after the 1st of the year when we will gather to “Celebrate his Life” This will occur in Indianapolis or Carmel, IN.

He has put on invisibility.
Dear Lord, I cannot see—
But this I know, although the road ascends
And passes from my sight,
That there will be no night;
That You will take him gently by the hand
And lead him on
Along the road of life that never ends,
And he will find it is not death but dawn.
I do not doubt that You are there as here,
And You will hold him dear.
Our life did not begin with birth,
It is not of the earth;
And this that we call death, it is no more
Than the opening and closing of a door—
And in Your house how many rooms must be
Beyond this one where we rest momently.
Dear Lord, I thank You for the faith that frees,
The love that knows it cannot lose its own;
The love that, looking through the shadows, sees
That You and he and I are ever one!
James Dillet Freeman (1912-2003) was an internationally acclaimed poet, author, and lecturer. A Unity minister, he served as director of Unity's ministerial program, as well as director of Silent Unity.
Friendships are strong relationships, based on mutual love and respect. I believe that God leads each of us to the highest quality of friends…….those special people with whom we are so comfortable, giving and receiving support, and in sharing triumphs and disappointments. What a great joy it is to have friendships where Respect….Admiration….and Love are shared! Such was the case with Steve and me.
Just as Steve thanked us for our Love and Support, I choose this moment to thank God, for My Best Friend Steve! Steve was and is a “Treasure of the heart” from God, to all of us.
Steve always acted with integrity and solid values that were from his spiritual nature. He was always considerate of everyone, recognizing the connection we share with each other and with creation. He acted in ways that were in keeping with his own values. With Steve you knew he spoke the truth and you knew where you stood with him.
Integrity was not just a virtue with Steve. It was a way of life! Steve was authentic and just as the Disc jockey introduced the Sounds Unlimited as “The Real Deal of Rock’n’Roll during the reunion concert at the Vogue Theatre, Steve will always be “The Real Deal” to me. God bless Joyce and the family

SHINING STAR
The angels looked down from heaven one night.
They searched for miles afar,
And deep within the distance
They could see a shining star.
They knew that very instant
That the star was theirs to gain,
So they took you up to heaven,
Forever to remain.
Look down on us from heaven.
Keep us free from hurt and pain.
You'll always be within my heart
Until we meet again.
