Obituary

Susan Schilling of the Villages, FL, beloved wife of William D. Schilling, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016, at the Villages Hospital. Susan was born on June 7, 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA, and was the daughter of the late Howard and Helen Lange. She was a graduate of Penn State where she became proficient in Spanish and worked as a translator in NYC. She raised her family in Danbury, CT and was the Transportation Coordinator for the Danbury school system for over 30 years.

A timeless beauty, Susan will be forever remembered for her independent spirit, her deep sense of pride, and her radiant smile that lit up the room. She was a role model as a mother, career woman, spouse, and friend. Susan enjoyed her many travels, playing tennis and water aerobics, afternoons on Lake Candlewood in CT, time spent with her beloved dog Sara, a good laugh, and curling up with a book. She deeply loved her family and was especially proud of the accomplishments of her nine grandchildren.

Susan will be dearly missed by her devoted husband, William; her loving children, daughter Wendy Werle and husband Kevin of West Simsbury, CT, her son Erik Moltzan and partner Robert Lee of Sydney, Australia, her son Kevin Schilling and wife Chris of Brookfield, CT, and her daughter Lynn Sweeney and husband Mark of Frederick, MD; her grandchildren, Meaghan, Jessica, Patrick, and Kate Werle of CT, Camryn and Nicholas Schilling of CT, and Andrew, Matthew and Luke Sweeney of MD. She is also survived by her sister Gretchen Bryant of Hiawasee, GA and her brother Howard B. Lange of San Clemente, CA, and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her loving child Mark Moltzan.

A private family ceremony will be held in CT at a later date.
