Obituary

Tamara W. Ellis, age 79, died of scleroderma on December 17, 2021, in The Villages, FL. Tamara is survived by her husband, David, of The Villages; her daughter, Lisa, of Las Vegas, NV; and her son, Stephen, of York, PA.

Tamara was born on February 14, 1942, in Los Angeles, CA to Earl and Frances Worthen. In June 1963 she graduated from UCLA with a degree in elementary education and after marrying David, she became an Air Force wife and mother. After spending many years moving and resettling with the Air Force, she found employment as an elementary reading specialist in her new hometown of Brookfield, CT. She taught and tutored at Center Elementary School for more than 25 years and made many friends through school, church, and social clubs.

In 2010 she and David moved to The Villages to enjoy their senior years. Here, she found new interests in forming a reading club where books were read and discussed with her friends and finding a new interest and artistic challenge in pine needle basketry. Some samples of her artistry will be on display at her reception.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tamara on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 10:30 AM at Baldwin Brothers Cremation Society 3990 E. SR 44 in Wildwood. A reception will follow with a luncheon at the Fenney Recreation Center, 3200 Fenney Way, The Villages, FL 32163. All are invited to attend and celebrate Tami’s life with us.

Flower arrangements may be sent to Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home in Wildwood, FL.

My condolences to Tammy's family. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. She tutored my son Matt for many years and got him thru to his graduation. She was so caring and patient. He thrived with her.
