Obituary

Tawndra Reed Merrill Haynes died of complications from heart surgery on Thursday, April 8, 2021. She was surrounded by her family during her final moments.
Tawndra is survived by her Mother, Maxine, Sister, Shellie Jo, Brother, Charles, and his Wife Kathy, Forever Partner, Joe Joe. She also leaves her two children, Melissa and Charles with his Wife Kerrie, along with three beautiful grandchildren, Benjamin (6), Amelia (19 mo), and Maxwell (10 mo) who were the light of her life. She was welcomed by her father, Charles Merrill and many dear family and friends who have preceded her.
Tawndra was born on March 4, 1953 in East Millinocket, Maine to parents Charles and Maxine Merrill. She was the oldest of three children. Tawndra graduated valedictorian, from Schenck High School, in 1971. She graduated in 1974 from Babson College as part of the first class of women allowed to attend the college with a bachelor’s degree. After graduating she began her professional career and family in Massachusetts before placing firm roots in New Hampshire. In 2003, she found her true calling as a real estate manager, sales agent, and her forever home in the Daytona Beach Shores/Ponce Inlet area.
Tawndra was a caring, social, and active participant in every aspect of life. Her job brought her great joy and she made many lifelong friends, including her forever partner Joe, while working and living at Oceanquest. It was Oceanquest that enabled her to cleanse her soul through her love of the beach, salt air, and waves. It was also there that she discovered that she did not miss the snow and cold weather of the previous 40+ years. The beauty within the people combined with the scenery are what gave Tawndra strength everyday.
Tawndra will be forever known for her infectious and one of a kind laugh, her colorful catch phrases, stories, and her desire to always see others happy and smiling. She showed her love through her actions – always there for anyone and everyone at the perfect time.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 2:00-4:00pm at Oceanquest Condominiums 4641 South Atlantic Boulevard in the common room.
