Ted Johnson, 92, New Smyrna Beach, FL passed away February 4, 2011. Born Theo Ambrose Johnson on New Year's day, 1919 in Adrian, MI, Ted never met a stranger. He will be remembered most for his engaging personality, quick wit and never ending sense of humor . . . he loved to make people laugh. Ted had a successful 50 year career in the radio & TV industry. His shows originated from Detroit & Flint, MI. He retired with his wife to NSB many years ago. Ted was an avid painter until he lost his eyesight to macular degeneration 15 years ago. He married his high school sweetheart, Ardis, in 1942. His family will always remember Ted as a cheerful and kind man whose life mission was to make other people happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glen and leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, son Jon, daughter-in-law Kay, granddaughter Jenny Munro, sister Merta Motson, brothers John & Bruce and many lifelong loving friends. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in his name to the National Federation of the Blind.
A Life Celebration Service will be held at Baldwin Brothers Cremation Society Heritage Place, 1 North Causeway, NSB, on Saturday, February 19th at 6 PM.
