Obituary
Thelma Frances Thompson, known as “Frankie”, passed away on December 10, 2018, in Eustis, Florida where she had been residing at the Bayview Nursing Home Center. Born in Darlington, South Carolina, she later married, had two children and owned and ran the Wateree Motel in Lugoff, South Carolina. Later, Frankie moved to Orlando, Florida and retired from SeaWorld .
Frankie had a passion and love for her family, a zest for having fun and living life to the fullest. We called her the “Dessert Queen”, as she always ate her dessert before her meals! She shared her life and tirelessly gave of herself with everyone she came in contact with. Frankie was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside, but always a very humble and modest person. She touched each of us by her caring and giving spirit, which will remain always in our hearts.
Frankie is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Woodrow Haynes; by her husband, Ray Thompson; and by her brother, Jimmy Haynes.
She is survived by her daughter, Thelma Victoria Petno (Vicki) and her husband, Tony; a son, William Gettys Neil, Jr. (Bill); by a devoted brother, Frank B. Haynes; a granddaughter, Adrienne Nicole de Jesus Region (Nikki) and her husband, Kermick; as well as four great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
Frankie’s family is going to have a private celebration of her life, but ask that if anyone would like to make a donation, please make it to the Bayview Center in Eustis, Florida, or make a gift of your time as a caregiver at your local nursing home.
Can't wait to meet her and welcome her back in paradise. Our prayers are with you and your family. Much love, Steve and Carolyn
