Obituary
Thelma G. (Schildt) (Bakner) Shaw, 90, of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Waynesboro PA passed away Tuesday, 17 December 2019.
Born April 3, 1929 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Albert and Mary (Lung) Schildt. She was a graduate of Washington Township High School with the Class of 1948.
Thelma married Hugh L. Shaw May 29,1969 and moved to Port Orange Florida in May 1993. Thelma retired from Landis Machine company in 1990.
Thelma enjoyed boating, fishing and the beach.
She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Wayne O. Bakner who was tragically lost in an automobile accident October 25, 1966, brothers Charles Schildt, Aaron Schildt, John A. Schildt, Glen Schildt and Paul Schildt, sisters Mary (Schildt) Hahn, Josephine (Bean) (Schildt) Smith, Mae (Schildt) Wade, Dolly (Schildt) Barkdoll.
She is survived by her husband, Hugh L. Shaw Jr., sons Carroll (Amos) Bakner and his wife Brenda of Waynesboro and Barry Bakner and his wife Sylvia of Wyoming, Grandson Brett W. Bakner and his wife Michelle and Granddaughters Aspen and Brooke of Wasilla, Alaska, step children Cathy (Shaw) Woodruff, Hugh (Lit) Shaw, Rory Shaw and Jerry Shaw all of New Jersey and her cousin and caretaker Beverly Howell of Port Orange Florida.
Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by Baldwin Funeral Home of Port Orange, Florida. Services and burial will be made privately at the convenience of the family.
