Celebration of Life for Theodore J Vogel 85, New Smyrna Beach FL who died Monday, August 16, 2010 will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 21 at Baldwin Brothers Heritage Place 1 North Causeway New Smyrna Beach with The Reverend Mark Spivey of Hospice of Volusia Chaplin officiating.
Ted was born in Newport, Rhode Island. He served our nation during WW II in the US Navy Armed Guard from 1943-46. He then worked for the New York Telephone Company for 31 years as an engineer retiring in 1980. He was a member of American Legion Post 17 and BPOElks Lodge 1557. Ted enjoyed Toastmasters and was an active member of the “Crankin’ A’s” Model A Antique Car Club serving as the mileage chairman.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 34 years Catherine, sisters and brothers-in-law Joan and Lowell Ryan, Genevieve Bruhl, Fran and Bill Weigand, John Clarke, Patricia and Marcel Idiart, 15 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Arthur and William Vogel.
The family requests memorial donations be made in Ted’s memory to Hospice of Volusia 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange Fl 32119.
