Obituary
Thomas French Deem, 82, of Port Orange, died Monday, February 26th at Indigo Manor Nursing Center in Daytona Beach following a brief illness. He leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Joan (Champagne) Deem; his daughters, Michele Dvorak of Cumming, Georgia, Mary Sprague of Gainesville, Florida, and Lohra Koppernolle of DeLand, Florida; son, Eric Deem of Jonesboro, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Amanda, Erin, Christopher, Abigail and Zachary.
Born in Gallipolis, Ohio, he moved to the Daytona Beach area with his parents in 1946. He served honorably in the United States Air Force and retired after a long career in the pest control business. Mr. Deem had a lifelong passion for fishing and spent many hours on the Tomoka River with his father and brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Mabel (Sowards) Deem, sister Jane (Deem) Marshall, brothers William and (twin) James Deem. Arrangements are with Baldwin Funeral Home, Port Orange. A private service for the family will be held at a later date.
