Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Francis Healy II, 83, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, in Palm Coast, Florida.

Tom is survived by his wife, Margo, his children, Lori, Sharon, Lisa, and Tom, stepchildren, Tom, Steven, and Chris, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his sister Mickey, and many nieces and nephews.
The experience of growing up in the small community of Roxbury, Queens, New York with his 8 brothers and sisters was an experience Tom often spoke of with humble pleasure. After high school there, Tom entered the Air Force where he became an air traffic controller. Upon leaving his service to our country, he was employed by the U.S. government as an air traffic controller, working his way up the ladder to Supervisor in the New York Air Traffic Control Center where he enjoyed his job and the camaraderie of his fellow workers.

Tom was a family man who especially relished all his grandchildren. He loved sitting in a recliner, putting one of the babies on his chest and relaxing while waiting for the baby to fall asleep. This also gave him an excuse to do just the same!

He loved to travel, fish for salmon at Hakai Pass, BC, listen to country music (especially John Fogerty), and play golf. His smile was brightest when the NY Giants or the NY Islanders won their games!
Moving from the northeast to sunny Florida enabled him to escape his enemy, the cold weather, for which he was always grateful.

Rest in peace, Tom, you have all the warmth you need now, in the arms of our Lord in Heaven. Through prayer and fortitude, you accomplished your goals; you were a great Husband, a great Father, an unbelievably loving Grandfather, and your Tillie adored you. No one will ever forget your beautiful smile, contagious laughter, and twinkle filled blue eyes! Your loved ones in Heaven are truly overjoyed to have you reunited with them.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Tom’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
