Obituary

On the evening of February 25, 2020, Tom passed away due to ongoing health issues.

Tom was born in Dayton, Ohio, on July 12, 1937, to Ralph and Emma Shock. Tom married his love Rebecca on February 14, 1959. Together they raised their daughter, Angela.

Tom served in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion for over 20 years. In 1993 Tom and Rebecca relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida, to enjoy retirement. Tom enjoyed watching the Florida Gators play football, but he continued to follow the Ohio State Buckeyes and was always a Buckeye at heart. Tom enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing with his buddies, relaxing in his pool while working on his tan, and he was always willing to play a competitive round of cards or Yahtzee.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Emma Shock, his brothers, Bill Shock and Gene Shock, and his sisters, Dorothy Schopler and Francis Baldwin. Tom is survived by his wife, Rebecca Shock, brother, Richard Shock, daughter, Angela Carnes, his grandchildren, Stacey (Aaron) Peer and Zachary Carnes, two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Archer, sixteen nieces and nephews, and multiple great-nieces and nephews.

No services will be held.
