Obituary

Vincent James DeFini (Jim) passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, Saturday February 24th, 2024 near his home in Palm Harbor, FL.

Jim was born in the Bronx, NY on July 17, 1944. He was the youngest of four siblings growing up in a boisterous third-generation Italian family. After marriage and birth of his two children, relocated upstate to Newburgh, NY. His affinity and love for automobiles drove his passion for the auto-repair industry. He showed pride and dedication for serving customers and built an accomplished tenure as Senior Service Manager for various General Motors dealerships in and around Newburgh.

In February 1989, Jim took the opportunity to move his family to Clearwater, FL, transferring his skills to work as a Senior Service Manager at Nationwide Auto in the Clearwater area. Later in his career, he became the proprietor of Nano’s Auto Repair in Tarpon Springs, FL before his retirement in 2005.

Jim lived a full life. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He deeply cared for those he loved, always thinking of others over himself. He was quick to pass along a corny joke, knew some slick card tricks, loved sports, savored a classic American breakfast and enjoyed trips with friends to the Hard Rock Casino.

He is survived by his children, James and Danielle DeFini, as well as his two grandchildren, Jacob and Micah DeFini. Further, he is survived by his former wife Janice DeFini, daughter in law, Marietta DeFini, and son in law, Joseph Knipp. He will also be missed by many friends. Everyone will remember him for his charming ways and positive energy.

At this time, no services will be held. A memorial event will be arranged at later date.
