Obituary

Vincent W. Clark, age 88 formerly of Halcott Center, New York and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on April 11, 2011 in Daytona Beach, Florida. He was pre-deceased by his lovely wife, Elizabeth James Clark. Vincent was born on June 23,1922 in Queens, New York, the son of George T. Clark and Augusta E. Finn Clark. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union. He proudly served his country in the US Army, 184th Infantry, 7th Division during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries incurred during the battle for Okinawa. Vinny is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is remembered for helping all his neighbors and friends. Vinny is survived by his son Patrick Clark and daughter-in-law Barbara, his daughter Eileen Clark Wilkinson and son-in-law Michael, grand-daughter Holly Clark Blanchard and her husband Michael, grand-daughter Kaila Wilkinson, great-grandson Eric Blanchard. Vinny was one of fourteen brothers and sisters. He is survived by Frank Clark, Larry Clark, and Edith Clark Herrmann. He also has numerous nieces and nephews. After a celebration of Vinny's life was held in New Smyrna Beach, with his family in attendance, he joined his wife, Elizabeth at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater, Florida.   Council on the Aging Volusia County, Brannon Center, c/o Nicole Charbonneau, 105 S. Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 or Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Vincents honor on Friday, April 15, 2011 at 9:00am  at Scared Heart Catholic Church, New Smyrna Beach.  Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2011 from 6pm to 8pm at Baldwin Brothers Haritage Chapel, 1 North Causeway, NSB.
