Obituary
Virginia Lee Wilkins, at the age of 84, went to dance with Jesus on Monday, February 18th after a brain bleed. She was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Virginia was born February 23, 1934 to Clyde and Elsie (Carter) Talley and was the faithful wife of 50 years to Henry John Wilkins.
She loved people and loved to volunteer at church, the hospital and Calusa Harbor in Fort Myers, where she absolutely enjoyed the last 8 years of her life.
The most important thing she did was that she taught us about Jesus. She passed on the blessing of Abraham as she prayed for the generations to come. Setting in motion generations of faithful followers of Jesus, that would number the sands of the seashore and the stars of the sky. Genesis 22:17. The blanket she loved and kept on her favorite chair was of the seashore. The blanket they gave her in the hospital was the most beautiful blanket, covered with the stars and glitter, God’s confirmation.
She had a quiet strength, was gracious and kind. She would always say, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” A few months before she passed we were having breakfast with a man who was nearing his 100th birthday. He hung his head remorsefully and went to apologize to someone because my mom told him that what he said wasn’t very nice. She just had that way about her. Convicting in a gentle way.
A wonderful keeper of her home, mom cared deeply for our dad. She made sure our house was tidy and in order, the kids cleaned up and settled down with quiet activities before dad got home. And she always had a meal ready for her hardworking man. She was a true lady, to be respected and honored.
She has joined her oldest daughter Isabel, her sister Colida and her brother Clyde Jr in heaven.
She is survived by her brother Chuckie,
