Obituary

Warren Robert “Moose” Rohrecker

Born on June 13th, 1926 in Richmond Hill, NY to Louis Rohrecker and Claire Leitz Rohrecker. He passed on quietly at home in Ormond Beach, Florida on September 9th, 2019.

Warren was a proud WWII Veteran who served in the United States Navy. He was stationed on both the Eastern and Western Fronts. He loved to talk about history, (especially WWII) and cars. His passion was cars, driving, racing, selling, buying and talking cars. Warren was a walking encyclopedia when it came to automobiles. When he was younger, he was an avid hunter and had many trophies mounted on the walls. Warren had many life-long friends from both his boyhood and military years, not to mention those from when his career with LILCO – ultimately from where he retired.

Without a doubt, Warren’s best friend was always his wife, Phyllis E. Schlegel Rohrecker. Married for 70 years, Warren and Phyllis were inseparable, literally always together. Together, they raised three children who gave them seven grandchildren, and again, seven great-grandchildren. Warren was a strong-willed, tough man who had a soft spot for animals. He had many cats and dogs and would always donate to local shelters. He leaves behind “Harley”, his current lap-cat.

As Warren drives his dream car, doing 120 mph the whole way to the gates of Heaven, he will sorely be missed but never forgotten.

OMG I am very upset to hear of Warrens passing. Warren has been my friend for 30 years and I have been trying to call him for a month. Every summer he and Phyllis would come visit me and my wife, Tina. I am so SORRY for the families loss. We all loved Warren and Phyllis. If someone could from the family could give me a call I would greatly appreciate it. Gerry Drake 413 717 0675
