Obituary
Bill DeChirico, 94, died at home Friday, May 27, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He Studied Chemistry and Metallurgy at New York University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrochemistry and worked in that field as a developer and executive and retired at the age of 74.
He was a US Army veteran of WW II and the Korean War where he was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar, Honorable Service medal (World War II).
Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and friends helping whoever needed it anytime, reading, cooking and enjoying wonderful family meals with his family and friends, telling jokes to the delight of all those who knew him, fishing with family and friends. He could fix anything electrical. He was multi-lingual and spoke English, all dialects of Italian, and Spanish.
He was respected, highly regarded and deeply loved and will be missed beyond measure.
Surviving are: his wife of 67 years, Elaine DeChirico of Estero; a daughter, Dr. Corin DeChirico and her husband, Dr. Jeremy Dzen of Estero; two sons, Gregg DeChirico of Naples and Wayne DeChirico and his wife, Dorothy of NY; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A private visitation for family and friends will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 4320 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. He will be laid to rest in Sarasota National Cemetery.
