Obituary
William Edward Hyde, 89, of N. Ft. Myers, FL passed away on February 13, 2019 at Hope Hospice. He was born on July 20, 1929 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to the late William and Daisey (Bale) Hyde. William retired after 20 years with the United States Air Force where he served in several positions including as a recruiter. Bill and Pat moved to Florida in 1986 and Bill began driving a school bus for Lee County Transportation and retired after 11 years with a perfect attendance record. He was a member of the VFW and the Lions Club. William had an infectious laugh, and he enjoyed fishing, dancing, oil painting, and wood carving. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patricia Hyde; his daughter, Rhonda Lee Runco and her husband William; his son, William Douglas Hyde; his son, Stephen Edward Hyde and his wife Julie; his daughter, Patricia Marie Keller and her husband Tom, his step son, Rick L. Garlinghouse and his wife Margaret; his step-daughter, Cynthia A. Newsome and her husband James; his 16 grandchildren, and his 25 great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Lewis, and his siblings, Audrey Francey, Phyllis Soper, Edward Murphy, Arthur Murphy, and Betty Hyde. Memorial donations may be made in memory of William to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
