Obituary
William J. Oleksiw, age 65, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10th. William is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Maryann; along with 3 children; Kelly (Tony) Ruocco, Bridget (Shaun) O’Kelly and Kristopher (Eva) Oleksiw and 5 grandchildren; Anthony Ruocco, Addison Ruocco, Colin O’Kelly, Dylan O’Kelly and Haley Oleksiw; and sister, Debbie (Gary) Marion. William was preceded in death by his infant son, William Jr.
William was born in Newark, NJ to Paul and Mary Oleksiw. He was raised in New Jersey, and he later moved to Florida in 1987. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus council in Deltona.
William served in the United States Marine Corp 1971-1973 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. He was a Regional Director and Chief Engineer for Hilton Hotels, as well owned and operated K&B Appliance and Cooling Repair.
William was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone. He spent his free time watching and cheering the WWE wrestlers and supporting New York Yankees and Giants. He enjoyed bowling and playing horseshoes. William was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, coached different sports or whatever else people needed him for.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22nd at 1:00 pm at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 1185 W Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach. The family will greet friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, November 22nd at Bear Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Lung Society.
Very hard to find the correct words, but realized there are no words that could comfort you, only time and the memories.
Bill brought us joy, made us laugh and showed us love. He gave us lasting gifts of his life forever. I know we will see Bill again because Jesus is his Lord and Savior.
