Obituary

William Wayne Haegele, Sr. passed away at home in Ocklawaha, FL, July 13, 2022. He was born in Bayshore, NY, Nov 18, 1946, to the late Winfred Horst Haegele and Gertrude (Johnson) Haegele. He graduated from North Babylon High School in 1964.

His greatest joy in life was his family, music and baseball, in that order. Bill was married to Sandra Petrillo with whom he had two children, William Jr, wife Crystal and Dawn Haegele, wife Judy and they survive.

He was later married to Susan Palladino with whom he had four children, Jeanine Coffman, husband John B, David Haegele, wife Kristina, Michael Haegele, wife Trista and Jason Welch, wife Melissa, and they survive.

In 2018, he married Suzie David who gave him 5 stepchildren, Jason Hackett, Marshall Hackett, Robert Hackett, Amanda Hackett and Jonathan Hackett.

He has 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Besides being a father, Bill was a musician and a businessman. He had worked as a drummer professionally around Long Island while still in high school. Not long after graduation, he began his career as a studio drummer for RCA in New York City.

He was privileged to tour with Roy Orbison, The Loving Spoonful, Ricky Nelson and various bands of many genres. He was a goldmine of stories from his days on the road and in the studio. Currently, he and his wife Suzie, own and operate the Hoosier Junction Music Hall and Gift Shop, in Sulphur, Indiana.
