Obituary
Willie was born in Morgan County Ky, the son of Flora and James Madison Moore. He was a resident of Miamisburg Ohio & Fruitland Park Fl. He passed away in Hospice, Taveras Fl. Willie was 102 years old.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of seventy -one year’s Lola C Moore, five infant children and sons Vernon (Clasie) Moore, and Kenneth Moore.
A WW 2 Army veteran having been proud to serve his county and retired from Chrysler Air Temp, he continued his love of the outdoors, tirelessly working away daylight to dark. He took up the love of Golf in his 70’s and could hit a pretty good shot. As the days weakened him, he would sit for hours either outside or by a window enjoying the wonderment of nature. And he also loved long rides in the county.
Survivors include daughters Edna (April) Gartin, Annetta Moore, sons Vondal (Clara) Moore, J.C. Moore and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a great great great grandchild.
His wonderful tales of another quieter age and less hurried times were told with a beautiful lilt from the hills, a quick and deep laugh and a smile that could transport you there. He was a bridge to another time, a child of the Great Depression, a citizen soldier, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
In some ways he was a relic of a different world a place where the sight of the deer walking on the crest of a ridge meant more than any tweet ever could.
The world is smaller and lesser without him.
Willie ashes will remain in Fl., until the warmth of spring where he will be Interred next to his beloved wife in a private family cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be scheduled prior.
