Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Yamandu Otero, a beloved husband, father, and provider of our family. He departed from this world on December 14, 2023, in Altamonte Springs, FL, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born on December 31, 1931, in Montevideo, Uruguay, Yamandu was the firstborn son of Delia Martinez and Luis Otero. With a vision for a better life, he courageously embarked on a journey to the United States 45 years ago, where he would build a new life with his wife and daughters.

Yamandu was a skilled watch repairman and a shrewd business owner, his astuteness evident in every endeavor he pursued. Yet, beyond his professional accomplishments, he was a man of passion and grace. His heart beat to the rhythm of the authentic Argentine tango, a dance that fueled his spirit and brought joy to those fortunate enough to share the floor with him.

Yamandu had a passion for owning and nurturing racehorses, a testament to his love for beauty, grace, and the pursuit of excellence.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mirta Agazzi, and his cherished daughters, Sandra and Veronica. Together, they created a tapestry of memories, laughter, and shared dreams that will endure through time.

Yamandu Otero’s legacy is one of determination, vision and love.  His memory will continue to dance in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Yamandu’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home, 2036 Sprint Blvd, Ste 10, Apoka, FL 32703 from 1pm to 3pm followed by an interment at 4pm at Queen of Angels Cemetery, 1901 Queen of Angels Drive; Winter Park, FL 32792.

May he rest in eternal peace, forever remembered and deeply missed.
