Seven years ago, I met Zana at a Garden Club meeting. Zana spoke her mind and was a bit brusque, but quickly she found her way into my heart. That first meeting I had brought a basket of extra jalapeno peppers from our garden to give away. No one wanted them but Zana. At our next meeting, Zana returned the basket which held a jar of delicious pepper jelly! Zana was always remembering her friends with “gifts” she had found in her famous shopping sprees at garage sales and thrift stores. No meeting was ever dull with Zana there. When she moved from Orange Park it was a sad day for our Garden Club. We still collect aluminum cans for K-9s for Warriors but now they sit in my garage till pick up, with fond memories of Zana who started that project. Prayers for comfort and peace for Zana’s family.

I am so sorry to hear that my old friend passed away. Zana was a caring person. She always sold me tickets to the Empty Bowls and at the lunches always took home something for the wild life at home. My mind goes back to school days - with her jet black hair (so beautiful) and her sense of humor. And I purchased many a jar of honey from her. She will be missed and I'll always have fond memories of her. I pray the Lord will lift up her family in this time of sorrow and keep them close. Friend of Class 1955
