Obituary

Nancy Irene Bennett, age 78, went to her heavenly home on January 24, 2025. She was surrounded by many loved ones on her final journey.
Nancy struggled for years with health issues, which became more apparent in the last few years.
She was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on January 26, 1946, to Reverend Clarence Norman Bennett, Jr. and Ruth Marion Bennett.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from Carsen Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, majoring in English with a minor in history. After graduation, she moved to Titusville, Florida, and taught at Madison Middle School then Astronaut High. After that, she taught at Park Avenue Christian Academy from1979 to 2005.
Nancy is survived by her sister, Cecile Bennett (Patricia Sexton) of Portland, OR.  She is also survived by her “Uncle” George Snelling (Carolyn) of San Diego, CA.
Nancy’s sister remembers her kindness, her laughter and wonderful sense of humor, her sensitivity and advocacy. They shared the wonderful closeness that only sisters can understand.  They cherished each other.
Nancy sponsored two girls, one from Africa and one from Guatemala, through Compassion, International. She was able to make visits to both, in their respective countries and kept in touch via letters / email.
Nancy loved the Lord God with all of her heart and soul and shared her faith daily with others by the way she lived. Now she is healed and resting at home with the Lord, no longer experiencing pain or sorrow.
She will be dearly miss by all who knew and loved her. She lives on in our memories, hearts and minds.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on February 15, 2025 at 1000 AM, at the Park Ave Baptist Church Sanctuary, 2600 S Park Ave., Titusville, Florida.

She has been such a blessing to my life for 36 years! Well Done, Ms. B... See you up there! Love you, David R

I am honored to have had Nancy teach my children, to have co-taught beside her, and to have been her supervisor. She exemplified the love of the Lord in all that she did. My life, and the life of my children, are richer for our time together. I am thankful for the gift of her friendship, the memories, and imprint she left on our lives.

Nancy was one of my first friends when I moved tomTitusville and she became a spiritual guide. Her loving influence began years ago and she was so kind. Most of all she had a smile on her face that was welcoming. She had been an instructor in a class and we began a long term friendship that grew stronger and deeper. You will be missed by all.
