After over a 2 year battle with colon/rectal cancer, Rob passed away on April 29, 2025, in Tidewell Hospice Facility in Lakewood Ranch, FL.
Rob was born May 2, 1979, to Patricia and David Kotasek in Cleveland, OH. Rob was a happy kid who always made his parents, siblings and neighbors laugh. He continued this through his life, bringing laughter to family gatherings and his strong, comforting presence to every celebration.
Rob grew up loving all sports and enjoyed playing basketball and performing with the Triway Wizards. In 1998, he graduated from Triway High School and the Wayne County Career Center where he studied as a butcher and baker. Rob was a dedicated, hard worker from a young age, holding various positions at Buehler’s and working for Triway Local Schools.
In 2015, Rob moved to Murrells Inlet, S. Carolina where he worked at Lowes Grocery Store and Horry County Local Schools. Rob moved to Sarasota, Florida in 2020 and worked for Sarasota County Public Schools.
Rob made friends wherever he went, proving his kind, grateful, and extremely generous nature. He never turned away anyone in need, always giving of his time and everything he had.
He was an avid sports fan supporting The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians/Guardians. Uncle Rob made his presence known in the bleachers and on the sidelines of his nieces’ and nephews’ performances, award ceremonies, and sporting events.
“Thanks for coming to my game, Uncle Rob.”
“I would never miss a chance to see you play.”
Rob is survived by his parents, Pat and Dave; his Godparents: Robert and Debbi Tommer; his sister Susan Cisar (Dr. Lori Lutz); and brothers Michael Cisar, Jeff and Mark (Lisa) Kotasek.
