Obituary
In Loving Memory of Catherine M. Palladino
Catherine “Katie” M. Palladino passed away on July 15, 2025, at the age of 89, in The Villages, Florida. Born on June 30, 1936, in Syracuse, New York, Katie lived a life marked by creativity, warmth, and generosity.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 66 years, Louis M. Palladino, and a family that was the heart of her world: her three children—Michele (Mickey) Brignull, Essex Junction, VT, Michael (Mike) Palladino, Holland, PA, and James (Jim) Palladino, Deleon Springs, FL: seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Solvay High School, Katie became an entrepreneur, proudly owning and operating The Gift Box in Syracuse, where her artistic spirit truly shone. Her imagination touched everything she created—whether it was a quilt, a custom teddy bear, or one of her beautiful glass fusion pieces. Her work brought joy to many and showcased the spark that lived inside her. In Florida, her hobbies expanded to include golf, bowling, glass fusion, and cards with friends.
Beyond her artistry, Katie was known for her warm and welcoming nature. Her kitchen was a haven of comfort, constantly filled with irresistible aromas and dishes. She had a gift for hospitality and an ability to make everyone feel at home. Few could rival her in the art of turning meals into memories, especially her “stone soup” magic.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL, honoring Katie’s spirit, the lives she touched, and the beauty she created. Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449. Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com.
We are so saddened to learn of Katie’s passing. We think of you both often from ‘back in the old days’ as our friendly neighbors. May Katie rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Jean, Peter and Grace Bowhall.
