Obituary
William A. Farley, age 87, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Central Islip, New York and Princeton, New Jersey passed away on September 4, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Manhattan, NY and grew up on Long Island where he found his passions for boating, fishing, racing muscle cars and target shooting. After graduating Cosmetology school, Bill started his career as a hairstylist in the major motion picture industry, a career that spanned over forty years. Some of his movies are “Love Story”, “The Exorcist “, “Goodfellas”, and many movies with Billy Crystal who Bill considered his best friend. One of Bill’s many achievements was an Emmy nomination for his work in hairstyling on the HBO movie “61”.
Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy Cook Farley, sons Scott, Bill, Ryan and Kevan, daughters- in-law Kelly, Lisa and Stacy, grandchildren Bill Jr., Samantha, Colin and Jenna, and great grandchildren Lilly and Liam. A private celebration of life will be held at a future family reunion. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to Gulf Coast Humane Society of Fort Myers where Bill adopted his loyal and much loved chihuahua, Lola.
