Obituary
John Santoiemma III, also known to many as “Fat Johnny,” passed away peacefully at home in Leesburg, Florida, on December 28, 2025, at the age of 65.
John was born on August 29, 1960, in Washington, D.C. From an early age, he showed a natural talent for working with his hands, something that would define both his career and his legacy. As a self-employed general contractor, and a renowned electrician, tradesman, and carpenter, John poured his heart into every project. Through his businesses, “Anything Residential” and “Workhorse Construction,” he built more than just homes; he built a legacy of quality, trust, and unwavering pride in his craft. A perfectionist and meticulous in every detail, he refused to cut corners, always striving to do things the right way because he believed in making a positive difference through his work.
Beyond his professional life, John embraced life with passion and enthusiasm. He had a deep love for music, deep-sea fishing, woodworking, passions that brought him peace and joy. He was known for his generous nature and often surprised loved ones with unannounced visits, sometimes with gifts, serving as a cheerful reminder of how much he cared for others. Larger than life, John had a big heart, a loveable loud Italian personality, and a remarkable way of filling any room with warmth, laughter and genuine love.
John cherished good food, music, and celebrating life’s moments. His family finds it fitting that he passed during the Christmas season, a time he cherished and made special for those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Beverly Jean Santoiemma, and his grandparents, Gertrude and Ray Underwood.
John is survived by his father, John Santoiemma Jr.; his son, John Anthony Santoiemma; his daughter, Jeriann Webster Berry; his sister, Maria Joyce Santoiemma; and his brother-in-law, Jose David Amador, along with many extended family members, friends, and clients who became family over the years.
Services will be announced at a later date.
Family and friends are encouraged to honor John’s memory by sharing a good meal, enjoying his favorite music, and celebrating life, just as he would have wanted by living fully, loving deeply, and making every moment count.
