Eileen Crawford Obituary
Eileen Claire Crawford, age 89, left this world to meet Jesus face to face on Tuesday January 19, 2021. She was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on June 13, 1931 and was the daughter of James and Ruth Fortune and sister to Jim. She moved to the Orlando area in 1949, where she met Owen Crawford at Orlando Junior College. They enjoyed 66 years together before his passing in 2018. They are once again reunited!
She is survived by her four children: Steve (Tammy), Karen (Richard), Carol (Steve) and Dawn (Phil). Eileen and Owen have 11 grandchildren, five great-granddaughters and many extended family members that she loved. Eileen is also survived by many friends that were drawn to her beautiful smile, loving caring attitude and most of all her love for her Savior.
Eileen loved everyone regardless of age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status or background. She taught children’s bible study classes for at least 50 years, ministered to her peers, marched for the unborn, shared the love of God with the residents of the Parramore area in Orlando and welcomed enumerable people into her home for some good home cooking. She opened her home for people from around the world to stay for a night or several months. Her family was privileged to be the recipients of her love, mentoring and encouragement. We have been blessed beyond measure.
Eileen’s Celebration of Life Service will be held at Aloma Church on Saturday January 30, 2021 at 11:00 am. Prior to the service the family would like to meet her friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am. If you cannot attend the service will be live-streamed at alomachurch.org/live starting at 10:50 am. The service will also be recorded and can be watched later on the Aloma Church’s live stream web page.
In lieu of flowers, please send gifts to AlomaCONNECT, which is the church’s ministry for children that Mom so dearly loved. That link is: https://www.alomachurch.org/give/ . Click “Give now”. Go to “Fund” box and select AlomaCONNECT. Mom would be thrilled and so very thankful.
I am sorry to hear of the passing of your wonderful Mother. I never met Eileen, but I do know her grace and love of God shines through you. May God watch over you and your entire Family during this time. It is a blessing to know she is in the loving arms of our Lord.
Kind Regards,
Karen Stevenson
Both were the epitomy of a Godly couple, parents and servants of the lover of their souls!
