Obituary
Mrs. Anita Flowers, 82, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away on November 6, 2021.
Anita was born on September 26, 1939 in Holden, West Virginia to Virginia (Chafin) and Ottie Burke. She was one of seven children. In 1966 she married Thomas Dan “Dan” Flowers. Together they welcomed a daughter, La Donna “Donna,” in to the world.
Married just shy of 50 years, as partners, Anita and Dan enjoyed golfing and spending time at the beach. In retirement they spent lots of time on the golf course in their community. They also had a shared affection for their dog, Nicky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Flowers, her parents, Ottie and Virginia Burke, a brother, Ottie Burke Jr. and sisters Thelma Cook, Irene Gilbert and Linda Richardson.
Anita is survived by her loving daughter, Donna Shea (Tim) of Apopka, Florida; step son Dan Flowers (Cindy) of Tallahassee, Florida; brother, Paul Burke (Barbara) of Crown Point, Indiana; sister Diana Brock (Colin) of Mayo, Florida; grandsons Justin Manke (Christina) of Apopka, Florida and Franklin Clay III of Cocoa Beach, Florida; grandaughters Heather Shea of Dallas, Texas and Danielle Flowers of Tallahassee, Florida as well as great-grandchildren Codey Adkins, Kyndall Manke, Hailey Betwinek, Kayle Witengier, Kole Witengier and Jaxson Manke.
Interment will be held on Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Baldwin Brothers New Smyrna Beach has been entrusted.
