Obituary
Karen Louise Haner, age 60, passed away on August 25, 2022 at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Florida with her husband at her side, holding her hand.
Karen is survived by her husband, David Haner and her stepson Travis Haner (Kathryn), both of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; her sister Melody Davis (Nevin) of Coopersburg, PA; brothers Rick Swartley (Tina) of Zionsville, PA and John Swartley (Aziza) of Bethlehem, PA; 25 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces & great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mavis Faye Jones Swartley; father, Richard Nyce Swartley; brother, Gilbert Swartley; and brother-in-her-heart, Tony Gitto.
Born on September 16, 1961 in Doylestown PA, Karen’s bright blue eyes and angelic smile quickly melted the hearts of everyone she met. She ended her career as a Software Analyst in 2014, moving to warm Florida where she valiantly fought cancer, kidney, and heart disease. She loved helping others in need, never dwelling on her own challenges.
A Celebration of Life memorial service is being planned for Florida. No firm date but will be in September. A Funeral Service will be held in Zionsville, PA at a later date. Karen deeply loved her dogs, donations can be sent to the ASPCA or similar.
We are so sorry for your loss. To be absent in body is to be present with the Lord. May you be in comfort knowing Karen is in heaven with our Heavenly Father. And that we have a place to go and rejoice with our loved ones once again.
