Obituary
Prakash Nath Khanna, beloved husband, father, uncle, and doctor, was born in 1934 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, to Rameshwar Prasad and Radhapyari Khanna. He graduated Madras Medical College at the University of Madras, India, in April 1960.
Prakash was the first of many in the family to move to the U.S. In 1965, he met Janet Ruth Maney, a beautiful nurse whose inner beauty struck him more. They married April 2, 1966 in Rhode Island, where their children Jogesh and Sonya were later born. They eventually settled in Ft. Myers in 1983, where Prakash was a doctor at Gulf Coast Center.
Prakash will be remembered as a loyal husband and father. He impressed doctors throughout his career with his knowledge and skill. He remained positive as he aged; he suffered the indignities inherent to old age without bitterness or resentment to those around him.
Prakash leaves behind Janet, his beloved wife of 56 years, son Jogesh and daughter Sonya Wells, their spouses Diane and Lyle, nephew Ram Khanna, nieces Manju Tandon and Vandana Soni, and many cousins, grandnieces, and nephews here in the United States and India.
The family would especially like to thank Dr. Sunil Lalla and Dr. Subhash Kshetrapal for their extraordinary care during his last years. We would also like to thank the exceptional staff at Healthpark, as well as the staff at Gulf Coast Medical Center SNU for their warm and compassionate care.
We will be gathering at 3 PM on January 21, 2023 at Baldwin Brothers FuneralHome, 4320 Colonial Blvd., Ft. Myers, for a private ceremony. We are pleased to provide a Zoom link for those unable to attend in person.
