Obituary
Noemi Nieves Valle, 64, of Port Orange FL passed away with her sons by her side on March 12, 2023 after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Noemi was predeceased by her parents, Carmello and Isabel, as well as her siblings Carmen Maria, Felipe, Rosa, Lito, and Jose. She is survived by her two sons, Antares (Tary) and Hector Jr.; grandchildren Madison, Amari, Benjamin, Lennon, and Roman; siblings Eduardo, Fico, Isabel, Santos, Juan, Mariana, Lucy, and Manuel; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Noemi grew up in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico with thirteen brothers and sisters on the family farm. She became part of the budding surf and skate community in the 1970’s, married her childhood sweetheart and brought two boys into this world. She eventually moved to New York City to be closer to family, and was a proud military wife traveling to Texas, Georgia, and finally settling in New Smyrna Beach, FL. She was an avid runner and continued to skateboard throughout her life. Noemi had a servant heart, consistently finding herself in roles helping at-risk youth, women, and people with disabilities in her community. She became a proud and doting grandmother in 2006. We will remember Noemi as someone that loved to have fun, travel, and help people. Her smile and laugh were contagious, something we will miss the most.
A local service will be held at Baldwin Brothers Port Orange (620 Dunlawton Avenue) on March 24 from 2-4pm, all are welcome. A final service to take her home will be held in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. The date and time for that service is forthcoming.
