Obituary
Anne Scott Albrecht of Ocala, Florida passed away on April 26th, 2024. She was born in Sarasota, Florida in December of 1953 to Geraldine and Vincent D. Scott Jr.
Annie, as she was known by family and friends, was multitalented and had many interests. She loved her home state of Florida and all of its natural environments nurtured by family picnics, and camping trips to Myakka State Park when she was young. She became a florist and a master gardener and enjoyed using native plants to further advocate for, and promote the beauty of what was naturally here.
Annie, was also an avid genealogist and enjoyed investigating and compiling information, and sometimes surprises for the family tree.
Finally, her greatest gift was that even in her most challenging times, she could find a person whose challenges she thought were greater, even when they weren’t, and extend her hand in sympathy, kindness, and whatever else she thought she could offer.
She was devoted to her church, first as a catechist at The Church Of The Incarnation in Sarasota, and later when she joined Our Lady Of Lourdes in Venice.
Anne is preceded in death by her Mother Jerry, her Father Vincent, and brother Doug Scott. She is survived by: her sister Margaret Scott Huckabee of Ocala, Fl. her brother James P. Scott of Ocala, her brother in law Tad Huckabee of Ocala, 2 nephews, Ian Huckabee of Denver Colorado, and James T. Scott of Nashville Tennessee, and her best friend of 59 years, Kathryn Wing Wimmer, of Benton Tenn.
Anne will be buried in the garden of Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice, Florida following a mass on Friday, May 31st at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Faiths Food Bank of Sarasota for “Campaign Against Summer Hunger” for local school children.

Annie enjoyed doing Relay for life, both before she was diagnosed, as well as after. Relay has themed laps and this is Annie as a hippie! I love this picture as it is a true representation of her having fun.
