Obituary
**Peter Dennis Columbis**
*January 13, 1955 – October 10, 2024*
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Dennis Columbis, who was called home to heaven on October 10, 2024. Born in Charleston, SC on January 13, 1955, Peter later moved to Philadelphia, PA before settling in Voorhees, NJ, where he built a life filled with love, family, and adventure.
Peter graduated from Eastern Regional High School, where he developed a love for wrestling. Following high school, he served his country with pride as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home, where he met and married Pamela Vespe, and together they started a beautiful family.
Peter worked with dedication as a member of the Heavy Laborers Union until his retirement. Alongside this career, he pursued a passion for cosmetology, following in the footsteps of his beloved Papou. He earned his hairdressing license and became a skilled barber and hairdresser, known for his talent and for making people feel confident and beautiful.
A man of many talents, Peter was a gifted gardener, an excellent cook, and an enthusiast of muscle cars. He also devoted himself to martial arts, earning a black belt in Hapkido, and had a love for playing guitar and singing. His “crooner” voice, reminiscent of the greats of traditional pop, entertained family and friends throughout his life, even leading him to record a Christmas CD that became a treasured gift.
In his retirement, Peter moved to Lady Lake, FL, where he spent his days cultivating his garden, cooking for loved ones, and continuing to sing for those around him, often to the delight of the crowd.
Peter is survived by his loving children, JeanaRose Columbis and Christian Columbis, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Matthew Freeman Jr. and Christian Columbis Woods. He is preceded in death by his son, Peter Nicholas Columbis; his sister, Christine Gullo; his mother, Catherine Brodie; his father, Nicholas Columbis; and his stepfather, Joseph Brodie Sr.
He also leaves behind his siblings: Paul Columbis, Catherine Viola (James), and Joseph Brodie (Victoria), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Peter was a devoted father, a proud grandfather, a loving son, brother and uncle, and a dear friend to many. His warmth, generosity, and endless talents will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
