James A. Manzo, 73, of Port Charlotte Fl, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday October 26, 2024.
James “Jim” was born in Paterson, NJ on July 23, 1951. He enlisted in the New Jersey Army National Guard at the age of 18. After his time serving his country, Jim married the love of his life, Linda (Sturr) in 1973. They settled down in Rochelle Park NJ and welcomed their son Michael in 1978. He worked as a Director of Technical Services until his retirement in 2017. During his career, he was more than just a “boss”. He was a big part of his employees and coworkers’ lives. They often referred to him as a mentor, father figure, and a “wise elder”, who never sought attention or recognition for the things he had done.
James was predeceased by his mother, Ruth. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, son Michael and daughter-in-law Katrina, and his brother David and wife Sharon. He was the cherished Grandfather to Ashley (Longo), Edgar, and Araceyli, Great Grandfather “Popa” to Mason (Crimmins) and Jaxon (Crimmins) and Uncle to Jennifer and Jaclyn.
James has requested a private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made The American Heart Association in his honor.
