Carolyn Ann Butler, age 89, of Clearwater, Florida passed away on October 30, 2024. She joined her beloved late husband, Bob, in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Carolyn was born in Richmond, Virginia on February 12, 1935. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Butler on October 13, 1956.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Robert “Bob” Butler, her parents Ella and Herbert Ayers, her brother Welford Ayers, her sister in law, Florence Ayers, and her grandson, David Jobes.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Linda Jobes (Mike), Diane Akins (Sid), and Katherine
“Kitty” Gray; her grandchildren, Chris Jobes, Crystal Shay, Michael Smith, Bobby Gray, and Jordan Gray; her great grandchildren, Katelyn Jobes, Maddie Jobes, David Jobes, Jackson Jobes, and Lyla Kate Smith.
She is also survived by her brother, Randy Ayers, her sister in law, Barbara Parker, her niece, Debbie Barnes, and nephew, Howard Ayers.
Carolyn enjoyed a career as a bookkeeper for Pastor Lester Buice, Buice Construction. She had a passion for volunteer work, including Meals on Wheels, greeter at a local Hospital, as well as her time spent coaching softball at Rehoboth Baptist Church, a Scout Leader for the Girl Scouts of America, a Sunday school teacher, and an active member of the PTA. But in her eyes, her most important accomplishment was being the proud mother of her three daughters whom she truly dedicated her young adult life to. She was undoubtedly the best mom, with her unwavering support, and her ability to juggle all of our activities, and still be a wonderful, dedicated, loving wife, and faithful servant to her Lord.
Carolyn was a member of North Metro Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, Georgia where she volunteered in the nursery, and enjoyed singing in the church choir.
