Obituary

William P. McDonald, a Korean War veteran, skilled electrical engineer, and avid bowler, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, at the age of 88. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories, and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Born on March 17, 1936, in Providence, RI, Bill grew up with a strong sense of integrity and natural curiosity that he carried throughout his life. He answered the call to serve his country and proudly served in the Korean War, a chapter that he spoke about with pride and honor. After returning home, he pursued his passion for electrical engineering, where he built a career defined by dedication, creativity, and innovation.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bill was a passionate bowler and spent countless hours on the lanes, making friends and sharing laughs. When he wasn’t bowling, he could often be found on the golf course, enjoying the game and the camaraderie that came with it. Bill was known for his steady hand, warm smile, and the joy he took in life’s simple pleasures.

He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy. Bill was a loving father to Pamela McCabe and her husband Doug, Joanne McDonald, Brian McDonald and his wife Paula, and Colleen O’Clair. His grandchildren remember his sense of humor, patience, and the life lessons he shared. To all who knew him, he was a source of wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength.  Arrangements entrusted with BALDWIN BROTHERS Funeral & Cremation Society-Spanish Springs, 352-430-1449.  Sentiments are encouraged at www.baldwincremation.com

Bill I will always remember you as a loving husband and family man. The many stories shared at your Mom’s house and you was truly the Best man in our wedding party where you was tagged as peachy. You had a wonderful sense of humor and lived life simply and fully. Until we meet again, sure hope heaven has bowling alleys for I will meet you there one day.
