Obituary

Edward S Rudd, 82, Sarasota FL, formerly of Pennsauken NJ, born September 21 1941, died August 14th, 2024 peacefully surrounded by family and friends.
Eddie, as his friends and family called him was a Grandfather Father, Son, Partner, Friend, and Traveler.
Son of Charles (D. 1988) and Helen (D. 2008) Rudd. Survived by Elissa Vessal, Jeffrey Rudd, Talia and Jared Vessal, Jayme and Danielle Rudd, Marsha Goldsby, Valerie Burks, and his supporting and loving partner to the end Ivy Ruark
Eddie was an animal lover who knew the names of every dog in his neighborhood and would always say HI as they walked by. He was a father to Pierre, Mikey, Tie breaker, Lady and Lucky and is certainly surrounded by them all now.
He worked at IBM for over 25 years, graduated from Rutgers University and was a Travel Agent who loved to cruise and see new places, eat interesting foods, take pictures and meet new people. He made friends wherever he went and always enjoyed learning about new things, places and people.
Best memories included father and son trips to Alaska, the Caribbean and other exciting locations around the world.
He was proud to be an auxiliary deputy sheriff with the Sarasota marine patrol group, and help local organizations like the Sarasota Chalk Festival. He loved playing sports like tennis and golf and favorite activities include poker, boating and cooking and eating great foods and wine.
He will be missed by his family and friends who will always remember his kindness and energy for the world.
Dad, we thank you for your contributions to our life, you are missed and loved, and thought about every day.

I’m sending my sincerest condolences to Jeff and all of the family. Although Ed and I went our separate ways many years ago, I will always be thankful for him and the moments we shared. I get a smile when I think of him with Lady and all of his precious pets.

    Blessings to you all,

    Val
