Obituary
M. Patricia “Patsy” Dacey, age 96, formerly of Brookline and Framingham, Massachusetts, died in Orlando, Florida on January 6, 2025.
Patsy was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to parents Cornelius J. and Mary (McSweeney) Dacey in 1928. She received a bachelor’s degree in English from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in counseling from Boston College. She later returned to Northeastern as an adjunct faculty member.
Patsy worked in the Displaced Homemakers Program for YWCA and was dedicated to creating opportunities for people to better their lives. She loved photography and learning, studying computer programming, and improving her sewing skills after retirement. She was an avid genealogy researcher and wrote character sketches of individuals she remembered from previous generations to the family genealogy.
Patsy is survived by her sister, Barbara Roop, of Fairfax, Virginia, nephew John Roop (Allison) of Moneta, Virginia, niece Elizabeth Roop (Dana) of Dallas, Texas, and grandnephews Mike, Keith, Joel, and Finn.
The family expresses deep appreciation for the many years of excellent care provided by the dedicated owners and employees of Ponce Adult Family Care in Orlando.
