William G. Hussey III

March 19, 1941 – January 5, 2025

William G. Hussey III, 83, of Safety Harbor, FL, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025.

Bill was born on March 19, 1941, in Everett, Massachusetts, to his loving parents Katherine and William Hussey Jr. He graduated from Everett High School and furthered his education at the AIB School of Banking.

On May 7, 1966, Bill married Janice E. Murray. Together, they shared over 58 years of marriage, building a life filled with love and cherished memories.

Bill had a successful career in banking and computer consulting. He began his professional journey as the auditor for Home Savings Bank in Boston, Massachusetts, after completing his studies at AIB. In 1981, Anacomp Co. relocated Bill and his family to Sarasota, FL, where he continued to thrive in his field. Over the years, he also worked for Data General (MA) and MCI (GA) before establishing his own consulting firm, Bay Associates.

A dedicated serviceman, Bill was a proud member of the Massachusetts National Guard for 13 years. In his youth, he had a deep love for skiing and was actively involved in ski and safety patrol. Bill was a founding member of the Melrose Hickory Hawks and enjoyed skiing and exploring the mountains of Austria during his travels.

Bill had a passion for adventure and a love for travel. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Whether exploring the countryside, enjoying the ocean, or visiting theme parks, Bill treasured every moment of their adventures together.

Bill’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and a zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Janice E. Hussey, and his cherished children: Kim E. Edwards, William G. Hussey IV (Ghade), and Rachel J. Marcano (Jeffrey) and Alan Edwards Ex son in law.  He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Gunnar, Jackson, and Rye Edwards; William G. Hussey V (Ashley); Alexa Hussey; and Jude Marcano. He also leaves behind three beloved great-granddaughters: Aria,(Gunnar) Hope (Alexa), and Marion “Emmie” (Jackson).

He is also survived by his sister, Audrey Dello Iacono, and was predeceased by her husband, Mario Dello Iacono. Bill’s loyal companion, his beloved dog Queen India, was always by his side.

He will be lovingly remembered by his ten nieces and nephews: Jennifer, J.T., and Chris Black; Stephanie and Matt Baiungo; and Joanne, Mario, Michael, William, and Marie Dello Iacono.

Bill also shared lifelong friendships with Dan Nigro and Paul Traniello, as well as countless other friends and extended family members who held a special place in his heart.

A celebration of Bill’s remarkable life will be held on February 8th 1-4pm at Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall 965 Harbor Lake Ct, Safety Harbor, FL 34695.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Suncoast Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
