Obituary

Beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend, and devoted pet mom, Allison Nicole Wise left us too soon and unexpectedly on August 4, 2024, from asthma related causes.

Allison was born on December 27, 2000, in Daytona Beach, Florida, and was a lifelong resident of the area. She was raised by her mother, Kassie Sue Carpenter, along with her father, William Wise, and her stepmother, Lisa Wise.

Allison is survived by her parents; sisters Nicolle (Nikki) Nichols and Kayla (Jenna) Hopper; grandparents Kenneth and Sandra Carpenter, Elaine Wise, and Susan Forrister; fiancé John Chandler Parker; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends as well as her “babies,” consisting of two cats, two snakes, and a tarantula. Allison was preceded in death by her grandparents Paul James Wise, John Forrister, and Carol Callahan Forister.

Allison graduated from Atlantic High School in 2019.  She attended Daytona State College and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in 2022. Allison was a Certified Pharmacy Technician. She worked as a pharmacy technician for CVS and Halifax Medical Center.  Allison loved working in the medical field and was planning to study Radiology at Daytona State College.

Allison loved to travel, both in the United States and internationally.  A trip to Iceland in 2018 with her grandmother Elaine and sister Kayla was one of the highlights of her life.  In early 2023, she spent two weeks “living her best life” during a trip with her sister Nikki to Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Washington D.C.  Allison traveled to Illinois many times when she was young and again in the summer of 2023 to visit her mother’s family and ride horses. From 2013 – 2022, Allison took an annual “girls only” trip to St. Augustine, Florida at Christmastime with her stepmother Lisa and sister Kayla.  Belting out Christmas carols from the Nights of Lights Trolley was something Allison loved to do. Allison took her first cruise in 2019, a special trip with her father to celebrate her high school graduation. This was the first of several cruises she took with her father. Cruising the Caribbean with her “cruise buddy” Dad was one of Allison’s favorite things to do.

Allison had met the love of her life, John Chandler Parker, and she was happily planning a future with him.  Allison and her fiancé John had taken a very special trip to Tennessee in April 2024 that included sightseeing in Knoxville and hiking in the mountains.  Hiking in the mountains of Tennessee became one of her favorite activities.

Allison had many future travels and activities planned, including hiking with her fiancé, cruises with her family, and more adventures with her sisters. She loved all things science-related and going to museums.

Allison had a vibrancy about her that radiated when she smiled, and she was almost always smiling. Allison was a joyful soul who was genuinely kind and compassionate to everyone she met. Allison didn’t have much of a filter, and she loved to speak her mind, but she always treated others with respect.

Allison enjoyed cooking and she was an excellent cook.  She was a talented decorator.  She enjoyed decorating her home, especially for the holidays. She loved to shop.  A shopping trip with her was a fun event, even if it was going to Target. She was a “girly girl” who loved make-up and dressing up, but she was just as comfortable and stylish in jeans and t-shirts.

Allison cherished time with her family. She enjoyed visiting with her grandparents, with whom she was very close.  She spent many happy hours chatting her Grandpa Carpenter’s ear off nonstop when they were together.  Every Sunday was reserved for family time, and she rarely missed having brunch with her father and stepmother on Sundays.  Allison was a remarkable person with a gorgeous spirit.  She was honorable and loving. She drew others to her light with her beautiful heart, hilarious wit, and infectious humor.  She bravely faced down her asthma throughout her life, but she never let it define her. Allison was goal-oriented and willing to work hard to make her dreams come true.  She had so many plans for her future, and we are heartbroken that her plans will not be realized.  We are forever grateful for the twenty-three and a half years that Allison had on this earth.

Allison’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.  Her organs have restored life’s promise for other families.  Although Allison is no longer with us, her light still shines. She is our hero! Her family and friends will never stop missing the sweet music that was her laugh.

A Celebration of Allison’s life will be held Saturday December 14, 2024 at 4:00pm, and will be held at United Presbyterian Church, 730 Beville Rd., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

Contributions in Allison’s memory can be made to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America
