Obituary

A. James “Jim” Wesson, 77, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family and support of his friends.

Born in Oak Park, IL, on January 8, 1946, Jim was the son of the late Arthur and Marion Wesson. He was raised in the Milwaukee area where he attended Dominican High School and was a very accomplished athlete. After graduating from Marquette University, Jim had a long, successful career as a CPA. He was passionate about helping others and found great enjoyment working with nonprofit and healthcare agencies. During his retirement, Jim took on consulting work and sat on the Board of Directors for many nonprofits in the Milwaukee area, including St. Camillus Health Center.

Later in retirement, Jim and his wife Sharon moved to Florida where they embraced an active lifestyle. Jim enjoyed playing pickleball and tennis, often with the many friends he made there. He enjoyed traveling with Sharon and visiting National Parks. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends, attending local art fairs, and birdwatching in his backyard oasis. His biggest passion was golf. Jim was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing regularly with his friends.

Jim is survived by his wife: Sharon Allie; three children: James, Matt and Lauren; two step-children: Jennifer and Debbie; brother: Tom Wesson and his wife Mary. He is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Jay Wesson.

Jim leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished friend, and a damn good golfer.

A memorial service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date, to be determined by the family. While there will be no formal services held in Florida, the family wishes his close friends to take a moment to think of him and celebrate the memories you shared.

Jim will be dearly missed but never forgotten; may he rest in peace.

I was a good friend and coworker of Jim’s for 33 years. I enjoyed spending time with Jim as we had a lot in common and enjoyed may of the same things. I am happy that I was able to spend time with him last year where we spent hours reminiscing of our time together and again a couple of months ago when an old friend of our passed away. His passing was so unexpected for me and I am still in denial. No Jim in this world anymore how sad is that. Goodbye old friend I am hoping I can see you and work together with you again in the afterlife.
