Obituary

Barbara “Bobbi” (Esposito) Santora, beloved wife, mother, sister and Mimi, passed away peacefully at UF Spanish Plaines Hospital in The Villages, FL on May 14, 2025. Her husband and granddaughter Grace were by her side.

Bobbi was born July 1, 1947 in Pittsburgh PA, the daughter of the late John Esposito and Victoria (Oldenski) Esposito. She married her husband, Dr. Robert Santora, on December 13, 1969. They moved to Meadville PA in 1973.

She served as a former board member, victim advocate and board president of Women’s Services and was proud to have served on the board that established the current Greenhouse for women. She performed in the Charity Follies for many years, was a member of the Meadville Medical Center Auxiliary, the Meadville Country Club and the Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club. Along with her husband, she was one of the founding members of the Conneaut Lake Aquatic Management Association (CLAMA). For the past 30 years she and her husband split their time between their homes in Conneaut Lake PA and The Villages FL.

Bobbi was the life of every party and the consummate hostess. She loved hosting parties, cooking and entertaining for her family and friends. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and she loved having them living near her. She was Mimi not only to them but any friend they brought to her house. She always made people laugh and feel welcome, and no one left Mimi’s house hungry!

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Robert Santora; her only child Gina Muscarella and her husband Robert; four grandchildren: Raina, Grace and James Concannon and Lia Muscarella; her sister Sandi Demas (Dave Lovejoy); her sisters in law, Judy (George) Russell and Eileen Santora; and 10 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers in law, Nick Demas, Dr. James Santora and Dr. Donald Santora and sister in law Elaine Santora.

As per Bobbi’s wishes, there will be no funeral or viewing. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Women’s Services Inc., 204 Spring St., Meadville, PA 16335 or CLAMA, P.O. Box 49, Conneaut Lake, PA 16316.

She was a remarkable woman. She just lit up the room and every Thursday morning was an event. Of course we played golf but it was the day we all looked forward to, seeing her and spending the morning and afternoon laughing and storytelling. Her spirit is truly in all of us Thursday morning ladies league at Oakland!

Wow Bobbie was a special person we had a bond that couldn’t be broken. I did Bobby’s hair for 40 years and in that 40 years, she only had three different hairstyles. She sure was a fighter. She loved her family like no other. My heart goes out to not only myself, but to her family who cared about her deeply.
