Obituary

Benjamin John Cassidy, age 93, of Venice,FL passed away on July 5, 2024. Born in Paterson, NJ, Ben started his early adult years in show business as a singer and actor in Broadway shows like Kiss Me Kate, where he met his loving wife, Nancy (nee Ward).  They lived in Waldwick, NJ for 32 years, where they raised their three sons.  Ben worked at International Paper as a carton designer for more than  20 years before moving to Venice, FL where he and Nancy truly enjoyed over 30 years of retirement.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Nancy (Ward); his three sons, Wayne (Jacqueline) of Sarasota, FL, Scott (Fereshteh) of Belford, NJ, Mark (Cindy) of New Hope, PA; his sister, Marlene Kern; his grandchildren, Keith, Brian (Susanna), Kelly, Keven and Nicholas (fiancé, Abby Bultemeier), and great grandson, Aidan.

A memorial service will be held in NJ next month.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:

    Some of my fondest memories in childhood were going to visit Uncle Ben and Aunt Nancy and all the family. He was so welcoming and loving. Always laughing and had a smile. I pray he is at peace and watching over us.

    Knew Ben for over 50 years. Always upbeat, funny, personable and a joy to be around. Looks like he enjoyed life to the fullest , a great family man and I had the pleasure of being able to enjoy a lot of great moments with him. RIP
