Carol Bernazki
(1953-2025)
Carol L (Fitzsenry) Bernazki, 72, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Lakewood Ranch Hospice in Florida.
Carol was the daughter of the late Simone (Bedard) and Eugene Fitzsenry. Carol grew up in Ludlow and was a graduate of Ludlow High School. Following graduation, Carol began a long and fulfilling career as a chef a profession that perfectly reflected her love of caring for others.
Carol started her culinary career at 12 Pynchon Place. She later worked at Mario’s on State Street in Springfield finding her love for Italian food. Carol founded Carol’s Catering and worked with her daughter Nickki for several decades. She retired from the Agawam Senior Center, were she ran the kitchen and Meals on Wheels Program. Even after retirement, her passion for food and people continued as she became partner of Mario’s Cafe Ambiance in East Longmeadow.
Carol had a true knack for helping people and always putting others before herself. Fiercely honest, quick-witted, and the life of the party, she had a sense of humor that brought smiles to everyone around her. Her big heart and welcoming spirit made people feel instantly at home- like life long friends-and she always went out of her way to be the best host.
Beyond cooking, Carol loved the beach, especially in Rhode Island and Florida, where one of her favorite pastimes was combing the shorelines for shells and sea glass. She enjoyed a good martini and rocking out to Kid Rock.
Carol will be remembered as a devoted wife, a beloved mother, daughter, sister and cherished friend to many.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Leonard “Lenny” Bernazki; her three daughters, Nickki Teixeira and her wife Diana, Christine Teixeira and Carole Teixeira; and her grand daughter Alexandria Moura, along with many extended family member’s and friends who will miss her deeply.

Services will be held in Massachusetts at a later date.
