Ms. Catherine Ann “Cathy” New, age 81, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2024. 

Cathy was born June 20, 1943, to the late Joseph Bernard and Mary Ursula Warren Mudd. 

Cathy was the Vice President of Claims and worked for Midwestern Insurance Alliance for 56 years until she retired. 

In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by sisters Mary Virginia Mudd, Hattie Lou Riggs, Mary Lilly, Rita Clements and brother Ronald Mudd.  

Cathy is survived by sisters Emily Mattingly, Brenda Gail Hulker, brothers Joe Mudd and Anthony Mudd along with several nieces and nephews. 

Cathy loved her work, but family was everything.

    I am so saddened to hear of her passing. I worked with her for 20 years. Good memories of traveling to the MIA office often, back in the day, and going out to lunch with the crew. She will be remembered and missed greatly! Thoughts for her family during this difficult time.

    I'm in shock with this news ..Cathy was very special to me and the love she had for her family was everything! I so enjoyed every visit with her and she had such a heart of gold! She will be missed and my life is more complete having had her in it! God bless the whole family

    Cathy is my hero. She had passion for her career and taught everyone in her sphere dedication. She loved her family and friends. She is truly an inspiration to us all.

    It was a honor to know and care for Cathy these past months. Cathy was always happy and loving. She was a true Blessing. The love she had for her family always showed. I will always remember and treasure the friendship we had. May she rest in peace with the good Lord.

    We didn't know Cathy as well as we would have liked, but if the true measure of a person is the quality of those who mourn her passing, then she was a great lady indeed. Rest in Peace.

    John and I receive the news of her passing with great sorrow. Of all her accomplishments and they were many, we were most touched by her love for our son, his wife and our two grandsons. They were her world. She opened up her heart and loved with all her heart. She loved our son like she loved her precious Michelle. John and Alex were the beat of her heart from the day they were born.

    To say she will be missed is an understatement.

    We loved you Aunt Cathy and will forever miss your smile and laughter.

    Your unconditional love brought such joy to our lives.
