Christine Angela (McCormick) Bush, 82 of Ft Myers, FL died October 22, 2025, peacefully at her home after battling lung cancer. She will be remembered for her extraordinary generosity, her love of the water, and the way she opened her heart…and her homes…to everyone she knew.

Christine was born on June 14, 1943, to John and Antoinette (Jankunas) McCormick in Baltimore MD. She attended St Mary’s College in Columbus, OH, where she met the love of her life at a Kentucky Derby party. She married Avon Judson Bush II on April 4th, 1964, and they had three children Kathy, AJ, and Jason whom they raised in Westerville OH. When her children were young, Chris was an amazing stay-at-home mom, famous for her chocolate chip cookies, and her turkey dinners. As her children grew, she worked in the insurance industry in a number of roles.

Whether hosting family gatherings with Jud on their cherished Lake Cumberland houseboat, or gathering with friends to play golf or cards, Chris created warmth and joy wherever she went and never met a stranger. She was an avid reader and a fabulous cook. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She took great pride in watching them grow and sharing her love of boating and good food with them, especially her cinnamon rolls at Thanksgiving time.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, hospitality and a spirit that will continue to inspire all that were lucky enough to know her.

Christine is survived by children Kathleen Jenkins (Donald Jenkins), AJ Bush III (Anne Therese Stubbs), and J. Jason Bush (Kelli Bush); Grandchildren Tyler Bush, Tanner Bush, Sidney Bush, Jack Brooks, Josh Brooks, Joey Brooks, Zack Jenkins, Riley Jenkins, and Siblings John McCormick (Liz McCormick), Jeri Rouhana (late Joseph Rouhana) and numerous nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by her husband Avon Judson Bush II, her sister Kathy Wright and her parents John and Antionette McCormick.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral FL on Thursday October 30, 2025, at 1 pm with reception to follow at 1002 Dolphin Drive Cape Coral FL.
