Obituary
With great sadness we announce that Christine Perry passed away on February 20, 2025, in Daytona Beach, Florida due to complications of lung cancer.
Born outside Chicago, Illinois, Chris lived a life filled with adventure, dedication, and love. She was deeply involved with her family, friends, work, and hobbies, leaving behind cherished memories for those who knew her. In her younger years, she was an equestrian who loved riding horses and traveling to competitions. An excellent cook known for preparing delicious meals for loved ones, Christine was also admired for her humor and kindness.
Chris built a successful career in the mortgage industry, where she worked for many years. Her life was also shaped by her role as a military spouse. Christine enjoyed traveling Europe while stationed in Germany and also served honorably providing comfort and assistance to spouses of the 101st Airborne Maintenance Battalion soldiers during Desert Storm.
Christine had a passion for creativity and beauty. She was a talented stained glass artist who crafted stunning pieces that reflected her artistic ability. Watching beautiful scenes from her Florida condo balcony these last few years brought her peace and joy.
She is survived by her son Jason Bartlett (Anna); stepdaughters Jennifer Perry (Scott), and Michelle Gravitt (Rusty); grandchildren Jason “Jay” Bartlett, Griffin Gravitt (Kaylee), and Garrett Gravitt (Marley); and brother Harry Jacobsen (Betty) along with their daughters Lorie Jacobsen-Marshall (Dave) and Lynn Jacobsen.
Christine was preceded in death by her husband LTC John H. Perry Jr. as well as by her parents Harry and Florence Jacobsen.
A memorial gathering was held for her friends in Florida with a private interment to be held at Andersonville National Cemetery in Georgia at a later date.
Christine’s warmth, generosity, and adventurous spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
