Obituary
David A. LaRocca, 70, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, December 21, 2024, at the Port Orange Halifax Hospice Care Center.
David was born on December 5, 1954 in Miami, Florida to Anthony and Katherine LaRocca and grew up in North Miami with his parents and younger sister. David and his family attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church were David also assisted as an altar boy. David belonged to the cub scouts with his mother acting as the Den Leader.
As a young boy David enjoyed making model cars and air planes with his Dad, going slot car racing and fishing. He loved caring for his pets and took great pride in his tropical fish tank.
After high school, moved out west to Oregon. There he learned his trade as an electrician. Over the years he moved to California and then settled in Nevada.
In 2000, David relocated to Port Orange, Florida and resided with his mother until her death in 2017. David then moved to a wonderful senior building, Luther Hall, in South Daytona where he made many special and caring friends. He truly enjoyed living there.
As an adult, David continued to love fishing, tinkering with the car, watching Nascar (Dale Earnhardt, Sr.), watching the Miami Dolphins play, and just hanging out with his friends.
David is survived by his son, Anthony LaRocca (Bridget), Carson City, Nevada, daughter, Lisa Domen (Joel), Dayton, Nevada, and sister Barbara Potter (Phil), Port Orange, Florida. David was also blessed with four grandchildren, Amelya, Aurora, Gwen, and Jacob.
“God never promised an easy life. He said that we will have suffering and heartaches, but He also promised that He will be with us, to comfort us and reunite us on the other side.” David, may you rest in peace with no more pain with all those you loved who passed before you.
